As Malayalee’s living in the United Kingdom, we cannot forget the legacy, traditions and cultural heritage of Kerala even while pursuing a very busy schedule in our lives. This society was created to be a platform for maintaining the legacy and goodness of our country to our growing youth and also as a reminder to each of us. By working together, we can retain the richness of Malayalam language and pass on the values and heritage of our traditional arts, games and cuisine.
The purpose of this Association is to promote social, cultural, charitable, educational, and literary activities among the Malayalee’s living in Basildon & surrounding areas. BMA organizes co-operative and charitable activities in the general interest and well-being of the members of the association as and when required, and co-ordinate such activities with other communities.
The Association tries to preserve and promote Indian culture, especially Kerala culture, through various festivals and events organized throughout the year. Some events conducted annually are the Onam festival, Easter-Vishu, Christmas and New year Celebration, Kalamela/Youth Festival, Picnic, Summer Fete, Sports Tournaments etc.
The Basildon Malayalee Association (BMA) also proudly conducts charity events as a part of the regular activities of the organization within the United Kingdom and also in India. This website is a huge leap in joining the digital platforms of modern times, with a humble aim to retain and spread our heritage to the upcoming generation.
